How Does Zoom Teeth Whitening Work?
A teeth whitening procedure at Dr. Monica Gobran & Associates usually begins with a dental cleaning to ensure the best results. For this reason, you may wish to schedule your Zoom teeth whitening to take place following one of your recommended biannual cleanings. Generally, you can expect your teeth whitening treatment to take about an hour.
First, your lips and gums will be shielded so the whitening solution doesn't irritate them. After that, we will paint the gel onto your tooth, using a special lamp to accelerate the bleaching process and break up set-in stains. This process takes roughly 15 minutes and will be repeated twice more (for a total of three 15-minute sessions). A fluoride gel will then be applied to your teeth to relieve any sensitivity caused by the whitening treatment.
Once we have finished the in-office treatment, we will send you home with a whitening kit to touch up your smile between visits. For lasting results, we recommend avoiding any substance known to stain teeth.
